Court extends Ayyan's judicial remand for 14 days

Rawalpindi (Dunya News) – Customs Court has extended the judicial remand of supermodel Ayyan Ali for 14 days and dismissed her appeal for attainment of B-Class in jail today (Saturday), Dunya News reported.
According to details, Ayyan was presented before the special Judge Custom Mumtaz Hussain Chaudhry after the termination of her earlier judicial remand.
Head of investigating team submitted the initial reports of the case and told the court that the statements of Ayyan and her father have been recorded whereas some evidence is yet to be written.
Custom authorities requested the court to provide them more time for investigation of the case.
Ayyan’s lawyer on the other hand adopted the stance that the case is being fabricated and the charges on the suspect are irrational therefore, Ayyan should be released.
The court accepted the request of the customs authorities after hearing arguments and sent the supermodel on an additional 14-day judicial remand and ordered to present the suspect again before the court on April 11.
While talking about the plea of Ayyan to attain Class-B in jail, custom authorities stated that suspects of smuggling are not entitled to B-class facilities on which the court dismissed the plea of the supermodel.
Earlier, renowned supermodel Ayyan Ali was sent on a 14-day judicial remand to Adiala Jail by a local court for allegedly smuggling foreign currency worth millions of rupees overseas at Benazir International Airport in Islamabad.

LHC has sought a reply from the custom court in this regard and will conduct the hearing on March 30 in this regard.
The accused also filed an application for the attainment of Class-B in the jail for which custom court asked the jail authorities to submit a reply, however; the authorities in a written reply stated that as the supermodel is detained on judicial remand, she is not entitled to B-class facilities.
The supermodel is currently being kept in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi
